Applying the Higher Order Thinking Skills in Modern Islamic Boarding Schools in Indonesia: An Introspective Study of Programmed Educational Activities.

The Islamic Boarding School (Pesantren) was the oldest educational institution in Indonesia. From its ancient history, it is a community-based (community-based education which established, organized and by society). After 1936, as result of development boarding schools, divided into two parts: traditional, known Salafism, Modernism. Although "pesantren", are well-established social reality Indonesian society, they have not received much attention government intervention to develop or empower them laws regulations from original inception 1998. There questions this area: How does schools look like? Has applied contemporary methods theories? Do recently implemented school teaching learning processes apply higher thinking skills? skills schools? method research descriptive introspective analysis that will be discussed through inductive on how implement following various activities carried out daily students, discussion, model applying modern advantages shown.
